Off-Track Garage Door Repair
A derailed door made safe first, then set back in its rails and repaired at the cause.
When a door has jumped its track, nobody should move it: it can fall, and a technician has to secure it first. Do not run the opener and do not force the door back in; the springs and cables are still under load, and DASMA says a door with a broken spring should not be operated at all. We support the door, relieve the load in the right order, and re-seat the rollers without bending the track or the sections.
Re-seating alone does not fix it. A door leaves its track because of a broken cable, a worn or seized roller, a track knocked by a vehicle, or loose brackets, and any of those will do it again. We repair the cause, replace damaged rollers, straighten or replace the track, check the sections for twist and the springs for balance, and cycle the door before we leave.

🌊 The Salt and Surge Factor
Off-track calls here often follow storms and flooding. Wind and debris strike the door's skin, and after a flood the bottom brackets, rollers and lower track sit in rust that nobody notices until a roller seizes. In Hurricane Ian the National Hurricane Center measured surge of 4 to 6 feet above ground from Marco Island through Everglades City and 10 to 15 feet on Estero Island. In garages that took water we replace the corroded rollers and brackets along with the re-seat so the door does not derail again next season.
Putting the Door Back on Track
Secure and assess
The door is supported so it cannot fall, and the cause of the derailment is identified.
Re-seat without damage
Rollers are guided back into the track without bending sections, hinges or rail.
Repair the cause
Broken cables, worn rollers, bent track or loose brackets are replaced or straightened.
Test and confirm
The door is cycled, balance is checked, and the safety reverse is tested before we leave.
